Thank you readers for reading my previous posts! I hope you liked them.
I'm going to share 5 reasons why everyone loves Harry Potter .I'm a true Potterhead, and my Harry Potter obsession continues to this day. (I use Amazon Echo to take HP quizzes every day!😉 )
The Harry Potter books and films have become a source of contention and debate. This series has captured the hearts of billions of people as one of the classic reads.
Let's take a look at why these books and movies are so well-known:
1. UNLIMITED MAGIC AND POSSIBILITIES:
When we see or hear the word ‘magic', an obvious image of a magician performing magic tricks or a witch brewing various stinky potions is bound to flash. However, these books altered our perceptions of magic and witches/wizards.
The variety of magic taught at Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry (my dream school) and the method of controlling magic piqued readers' interest.
Everyone enjoys topics such as Defense Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration, and Charms.(Potions and Divination too, eh?) The spell incantation was indeed spellbinding! Don't even get me started on Quidditch (flying sport).
When it came to possibilities, what appeared to be obvious wasn't always the case. Take Snape, for example. Who would have thought he was innocent all along? Who'd have guessed that the only drawback of Professor Quirrel was Voldemort sticking out of his head?(Did I just quote Harry?)
These possibilities were unexpected and caught people off guard, adding to the intrigue of the series.
2. ESCAPE FROM REALITY AND VALUED LESSONS:
We all like to fantasize about things we really want but don't always get in real life. These books and movies allow us to lose ourselves in our wild imaginations and imagine ourselves as witches and wizards who can solve everyday problems by waving their wands. (How I wish I had a wand!)
This series teaches the true meaning of friendship. We all yearn for true friendship after witnessing the bond shared by Ron, Hermione, and Harry. This series also assists us in distinguishing between what is right and what is easy. We came across a few examples that demonstrated people's choices and how these choices had a significant impact on their lives.
Do what is right, not what is easy! Because after all, “It is our choices, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”(Love Dumbledore for this wonderful quote💗 )
3. INTERESTING CHARACTERS:
I wish I could be as brave as Harry, as witty as Hermione, and as loyal as Ron. These are the most valuable characteristics that these three characters have. Every conversation, clever retort, and sirius debate (AH! It's ‘serious’, not 'sirius,' 😂 ) made it impossible not to love them.
It's always amusing to see Hermione come up with solutions that are beyond Harry and Ron's comprehension. It's always hilarious to see Ron irritate Hermione. Nonetheless, it is always inspiring to see Harry battling the evil Voldemort.
In a nutshell, the characters are fascinating. (Oh! I forgot about the other characters)
Neville. It's amusing that he's afraid of Snape.
Ginny, being as feisty as she is.
Fred and George, always joking.
Luna, being the oddball she is.
Professor Mcgonagall is breaking out of her serious mode!
(I'm not talking about Voldemort.) Don't worry, the name is no longer taboo.)
4. PLOT:
When it comes to the plot, it is clear why it is the best. First, Harry visits Diagon Alley, then Hogwarts, where he is sorted into Gryffindor. Second, Voldemort (who murdered Harry's parents) pursues Harry, and Harry, along with his friends, strives to defeat Voldemort in almost every aspect. Third, it is obvious that magic attracts readers. Horcruxes, Hogwarts subjects, The Weasleys, Quidditch, Dumbledore and so much more!!
These books transport us to a different world of magic, where we can relate to and be inspired by the traits of the characters. I'll quickly summarize the first three books' plots.
Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone - It tells the story of Harry Potter, an orphan raised by his aunt and uncle after his parents were killed when he was a baby. Harry is despised by his uncle and aunt, but everything changes when he is invited to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and discovers he is a wizard. He learns that his parents were murdered by a dark wizard named Voldemort, and that he, too, is on his trail.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets- The plot follows Harry during his second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. A mysterious elf warns Harry to expect trouble during his second year at Hogwarts, but nothing can prepare him for fighting trees, flying cars, talking spiders, and deadly warnings written in blood on the school's walls.
Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban-Harry Potter is in his third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. With the assistance of friends Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger, he investigates Sirius Black, an escaped prisoner from Azkaban (the wizard prison), who is thought to be one of Lord Voldemort's old allies.
5. MOVIES:
Reading books takes a lot of time and patience. It may be easier for some people if books are adapted into films. All of the Harry Potter books are now available as films, allowing us to avoid reading those large, heavy books while still understanding the stories. Although I would still prefer to read, movies are a good source of information.(Harry should have green eyes, but in the movies, he had blue!) Movies assist us in visualizing the characters and objects mentioned in books. One of the reasons that a large portion of the credit goes to the movies for increasing Harry Potter's popularity is that they depict beautiful locations and scenes.
(If you haven't read the Harry Potter books yet. You have missed out on one of the most enjoyable aspects of life. NOT KIDDING!)
These are the five factors that I believe have contributed to the Harry Potter series' fame and popularity.
(Thanks Rimzim and Avni for suggesting me to write this post!)
That concludes this post. I hope you enjoyed it!
